Each year, America celebrates a fun holiday called Boss's Day which annually falls on October 16th. With the economy being in an all-time low, it might not be practical to go out and spend a lot of money on a gift for your boss. But the nice thing is, you don't have to spend a lot for your boss to feel appreciated. Here are a few ways to celebrate Boss's Day without breaking the bank.
First off, who says that everyone has to purchase their own individual gift? Why not team up together with your coworkers and purchase a large item with everyone in the office? Even if everyone simply chips in with $5-$10, you will be able to buy a nice gift that your boss or manager will cherish.
Now, what if not everyone wants to chip in on a gift for the boss? That's okay too. You can still find frugal ways to show them that they are appreciated. How about simply purchasing or making a 'Thank You' card? Sure, it's not a big extravagant gift, but they will know that you went out of your way to give them something special. It's the thought that counts, right?
If you want to give them more than a card, there are still many of ways to present them with a thank you gift. Do they have a favorite restaurant that they like to go to for lunch? Or perhaps they have talked about a special restaurant that they take their spouse to. Purchase a gift certificate to one of these places and they will know that you thought about them and their tastes. It's a great way to show them that you care about them as a person, just as much as you care for them as a boss.
Another easy and simple option would be to give them a personalized gift such as a custom ballpoint pen, or a monogrammed money clip. There are even engraved lighters these days for the cigar enthusiasts out there. The options are endless for gifts with their name on them. Do a little digging and you're sure to find something that they will love.
What are your boss or manager's favorite hobbies? Do they like to golf? Give them a monogrammed golf towel, or a box of nice golf balls. Do they absolutely adore their pets? Give them a pet gift basket or a box of gourmet dog bones. They'll appreciate your thoughtfulness and their pets will love you!
Now if your boss really enjoys sweets, you're in luck because there is a lot out there for that category! You can give them a delicious cookie bouquet with a personalized message and cute iced cookies. Another option would be to give them a gourmet boss's day gift basket. Many times these come with gourmet chocolates, cookies, crackers and cheese, or something of the sort. These are great because everyone loves gourmet treats, and many times they look more expensive than they actually are! Plus if you are lucky, they might even share with you!
No matter what you choose to do for Boss's Day, it is sure to be appreciated. Many bosses don't anticipate this to be a day for them so it will be a nice surprise to receive a little thank you for a job well done for them!
