Did you expect such a silly celebration such as 'Something on a Stick Day'? Perhaps not, although if I were to hear about this holiday, I would probably assume it would happen sometime in the summer when the state fair is going on. This is typically when you see all the crazy new things that people can eat on a stick.
However it is much earlier when March 28th comes around (this year and every year) and you can proudly announce you are celebrating 'Something on a Stick Day' by trying one of these many options that I'll mention below.
History of the Holiday
Where did this wacky day come from?
Unfortunately, myself and many others were unable to find the origin of where this wacky holiday came from. All we know is that it's here today and recognized nationally. Crazy right? What we do know however, is that you're not technically obligated to shop for any expensive holiday gifts. So that's always nice.
If you ask me, it was probably something that originated on March 26th... which is Make Up Your Own Holiday Day... But that's just my personal theory.

How to Celebrate
Get on the Bandwagon
So now that you know when it is, and kind of why it is, you most likely want to know how you can celebrate. Well it's really simple - in fact, you've probably guessed it by now. You put something (anything really) on a stick and enjoy! Of course, there is more to it if you want to really get into the spirit.
Some people at The Addison Group have created a website dedicated to the day, you can see it at SomethingonaStick.com. They will send you a stick if you so request, and then you can take a picture of you and whatever you decided to put on your stick. You can then see all kinds of different things on a stick when you visit their gallery. Pretty neat, right?

Food on a Stick
Naturally food is the most popular thing that goes onto these sticks that I speak of. But I don't think you realize just how many foods can go onto a stick. At least, I never realized, until I started seeing it with my own eyes. Here are just a few of the items you can try on a stick.

Help Others Celebrate
Share the Silliness
If you're looking for a couple clever ways to send the festivity around, there are a few ways that I can suggest. Firstly, you could send them a mug filled with lollipops. It's a nice gesture and they are, without-fail, on a stick.
Another option is to send them a cookie bouquet, you know - cookies on a stick! They're very cute and you can get creative with your message on the card as well.
No matter how you help others celebrate, know that the founders (whoever they are) of 'Something on a Stick Day' would be proud!
