Mincemeat Pie

Mincemeat Pie

So you want to attempt to make mincemeat pie. It's not a hard recipe! And who knows, maybe when you're done you'll be writing us with a wonderful recipe for mincemeat cookies! Yeah, or maybe not.

  • 1 qt. mincemeat
  • 1 granny smith apple, cored and chopped but not peeled

  • Pie crust

Egg Wash:

  • 1 egg, beaten with 3 tablespoons of water

Combine the mincemeat pie filling with the apple and place in the bottom of the pie crust. Spread out evenly.Cut 1/2 inch strips out of the remaining dough and lay over the filling in a lattice design. Brush lattice strips with the egg wash. Bake in a preheated 375 degree oven for 1 hour, until golden brown and bubbly. Alternatively, you can make individual pies as shown in the image.
