Cream shortening and sugar. Blend in egg and molasses. Mix dry ingredients together and add to wet ingredients and mix well. Roll dough in small balls and roll in sugar. Do not press down, cookies will flatten while cooking. Bake 350 degrees F for 10 to 12 minutes.
